Week commencing 20th January 2019

Electoral Roll 2019

What is the Electoral Roll? The Electoral Roll is the church’s register of those who consider themselves to be members of the church. Being on the Electoral Roll allows a person to vote at the Annual Parochial Church meeting (APCM), where elections are held for the Parochial Church Council (PCC) which works with the vicar to run the church, and for parish representatives on Sharnbrook Deanery Synod (which will in turn elect representatives to Diocesan Synod and General Synod).

Renewal of the Electoral Roll Every six years the Roll is scrapped and a new Roll prepared, and 2019 is one of those years: everyone has to re-apply to be put on the new Electoral Roll. In the Benefice, Electoral Roll forms will be available in churches from today. To comply with Data Protection laws the Church of England is issuing a specific Privacy Notice that covers the Electoral Roll and this will be available to view on the Benefice website from next week. With your Application Form you will also receive a Data Consent Form & Ethnicity Monitoring form. Please do fill in the Data Consent Form as we now need this to keep you up to date with events at church and to continue to include details of personal information in pew leaflets and the like.

Please return completed application forms and consent forms to your church or to the office.
