Notices

Churches opening - for Private Prayer…

Starting today (Sunday 28th June) the churches will be open as follows:

St Mary’s Oakley – Sun and Weds, 2-4pm

St Owen’s Bromham –Weds 10-12noon, Sat 2-4pm

St Leonard’s Stagsden – Sat 10-12noon

Please follow the direction of the stewards on duty, maintain social distancing, and sanitise your hands on entry and exit (sanitiser provided).

If you have money to give, eg from Christian Aid week, Lent Frugal lunches, or your weekly envelopes, there will be a place to put this in each church.

We need stewards for when the churches are open – if you can safely offer this, talk to a church warden.

…and Public Worship?

The Government have now said that churches can open for public worship from July 4th. We await guidance from the Church of England about what exactly will be allowed – online services will continue for the foreseeable future while the PCCs work out the best way forward.

Face masks
available from Frances Bulmer with donations to St Owen’s Church PCC. These masks are made to order, contact Frances on 409916 for more information.

Giving During Lockdown
Bishop Alan’s sermon challenged us all to look at our financial giving to the church. If you want to respond to his message  please contact the treasurer for your parish: Bromham – Emma Harrison emmajberresford@hotmail.com;   Oakley – Sally Ball ls.ball@btinternet.com; Stagsden – via Di Harpham. Or ask Sarah or Catherine for their phone numbers.

Feeling under the weather?
Anyone can now access a test for coronavirus if they have any of the symptoms of COVID-19. Visit this page  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing-and-tracing/ask-for-a-test-to-check-if-you-have-coronavirus/ or call 111 to arrange a test.

Help is available if you are unwell or self-isolating. Please let one of the church wardens or clergy know if you, or a neighbour or friend, could do with some help. Many people from the church and the community are asking what they can do, so please get in touch with requests (and offers of help).

Bedford Foodbank still needs our help – put donations in the boxes at most large supermarkets, or give money online: https://bedford.foodbank.org.uk/

Keeping in touch The pew leaflet can be emailed or delivered to anyone who would like a copy – please tell Sarah if you know someone who wants to receive it.
