EASTER CRAFT & OPEN DAY AT ST. OWEN'S PARISH CHURCH

This was held on Saturday 24th March llam-3.30pm.  The idea being that children and their families could have fun in this ancient 'Church in the Park' with little expense to their pockets!

It proved to be a very successful day, organised by Sarah Dean with help and support from several parishioners from St. Owen's and Community Evangelist Martin (shown here with his face painted, at the refreshment stall). So a BIG THANK YOU to all who helped in any way.

The activities included: making Easter baskets, Easter chicks and bunnies, Easter gardens, blowing and painting eggs (shown to the left), face painting, dipping marshmallows in chocolate, there was an Easter poem competition where several children from Bromham School took part; Easter quizzes; a batch of 2 day old chicks on show in a warm incubator; a video of a children's version of the Easter Story; cards and some Traidcraft items on sale; one of the older children dressed up as an Easter Bunny which delighted the little ones; an easter egg hunt; a local organist played some popular Easter hymns and the children were encouraged to come up and watch.  Refreshments included: drinks free, hot cross buns and cakes for 10p and ploughmans lunches for 1.50. There was a donation box for those who wanted to contribute and in fact, a profit of 65.00 was made!  All in all, a good day was had by all so thank you to all who came along and supported us; hope you had fun.

We are hoping to organise another Activity Day later on this year.  So, watch this space!
